Fascinating - though not unsurprising - study showing that young children allocate effort if they believe they’re improving.

Motivation can be so tricky to support, but a sense of success and progression/improvement appears so key for feedback practices.

A child’s early years are the best chance to lay strong foundations and they play a vital role in determining chances later in life.

Great to see @UNICEF_UK highlighting the importance of early years today in their report.

My new Tes column on the seminal Hart & Risley research & why it matters.

Though it is a flawed study, it initiated an vital awareness in the role of early language & the environment. It has triggered decades of high quality research.

Really useful thread on differentiation by Daniel Muijs, helpfully unpacking the definition/s & sharing useful evidence touchstones.

Most arguments about differentiation would be quickly quelled by a clear definition & examples (although that may make Twitter a bit dull!)
