Interviews done by the task force are what led to the arrest of Ferguson, 30.

No other arrests are expected to be made.

According to records, Ferguson lived at the complex from Dec. 2017 - June of 2018.

“We’re happy that this day has finally come,” Frizzell said. “To the communities of San Angelo, Pasadena, Austin And San Marcos we thank you so much for loving us and standing by us.”

He said he was eternally grateful for everyone involved in the investigation.

“There was no new tip that came in that led to the arrest,” Higgins said.

Higgins said he cannot comment on what Ferguson has told investigators at this time.

Ferguson was an undergraduate student at Texas State University.

Fire Marshal Higgins said investigators on the task force started from the very beginning of the case.

“Fire investigations because of their nature are difficult and complex to solve,” Higgins said.

Ferguson was interviewed at the time.
Still no word on specific motivation.
