28/4/24-Day 9 of the Alpine Garden Society Kazakhstan tour. After arriving back in Almaty we headed to Gorge Kaskelen. 1) Iris albertii, 2) Primula algida, 3)Paeonia intermedia,4) Tulipa ostrowskiana.
Found growing near snow melt patches Gymnospermium albertii member of the Berberidaceae family. #Kazakhstan
27/4/24- Day 8 of Alpine Garden Society tour to Kazakhstan. Fantastic finds on the way to Aksu Canyon before we travel back to Almaty on the train throughout the night. 1)Crocus alatavicus, 2)Phlomoides speciosa, 3)Fritillaria sewerzowii, 4)Thalictrum isopyroides.
26/4/24- Day 7 of Alpine Garden Society tour to Kazakhstan. Wonderful array of plants found in Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve. 1) Gymnopermium albertii, 2)Fritillaria stenanthera, 3) Fritillaria sewerzowii, 4) Corydalis ruksansii
25/04/24- Day 6 of Alpine Garden Society tour to Kazakhstan. 1) Iris loczyi, 2) Eremurus lactiflora, 3) Tulipa berkariensis, 4) Corydalis ledebouriana
24/4/24-Day 5 of Alpine Garden Society tour to Kazakhstan.1) Allium karataviense, 2) Tulipa greigii hybrid, 3) Onosma irritans, 4) good end to the day seeing a Egyptian vulture.
23/4/24 -Day 4 of Alpine Garden Society tour. Day trip to Akkol lake in Jambyl in Kazakhstan. 1)Tulipa lehmanniana, 2)Rosa persica, 3)seed pods of Fritillaria karelinii, 4)Astragalus scabrisetus
21/4/24- Day 2 today’s finds as we drive west of Kazakhstan on the Alpine Garden Society tour. 1)Tulipa jansii, 2) Tulipa greigii, 3) Tulipa ostrowskiana
4) Rheum tataricum
20/4/24 Day 1 we have arrived in Kazakhstan on the Alpine Garden Society tour. After arriving at Almaty early morning. We had breakfast and headed off botanising wonderful array of plants already seen. 1)Tulipa alberti, 2)Iris tenuifolia, 3) Pseudosedum affine 4) Vicia subvillosa.
