Things we learned during the pandemic:

We really will order food on an app.

We don't really care if hotels make.our bed every night.

We crave face to face interaction more than we realize.

Students really DO want to be at school (even if they tell us otherwise sometimes).

There is no better way to show your staff that you don't respect, care about and value them than to increase starting salaries to fill openings but not increase the salaries of your current staff.

. He asked the board to shorten the work week, giving teachers half a day on Fridays just to plan. He said, “The look on teachers’ faces right now is the look we see in May, and it’s disheartening.”

Saw a reply from someone on a post that basically said the bulk of education is built on the back of unpaid time of teachers. That should make every school board pause.

Not sure most people understand the number of high quality and hard working teachers who are truly on the verge of breakdowns due to being overworked and overwhelmed this school year.

Involving students in authentic conversations about curriculum and instruction in terms of what is working for them and what does not is an effective strategy to identifying potential setbacks & proactively addressing them. If we listen we will hear more. #leadlap
