'In 2016, the former Chief Procurement Officer Kenneth Brown estimated that between 30 to 40% of South Africa's procurement budget is lost to inflated prices and fraud by the private sector and at the time this was approximately 250 billion Rand.'

'At the moment our procurement budget is around about a trillion Rand which means that we're losing between 300 and 400 billion rent each year as a result of corruption,'- Dominic Brown, Director of the Alternative Information and Development Centre (AIDC).
