This is the one day set aside for public testimony as Philadelphia City Council considers the Mayor’s budget proposal.

We were supposed to have the floor at 1:30. At almost 3pm, we still haven’t gotten a chance to speak.

People took off work to testify. This is unacceptable.

Ezra Bozeman is highly regarded as a source of love and strength for folks inside and outside prison. He emerged from a recent surgery completely paralyzed and we’re calling on Governor Josh Shapiro to grant him reprieve.

Amistad and other prison advocacy groups are calling on Gov. Shapiro to grant reprieve to Ezra Bozeman, one of the oldest incarcerated people serving a life sentence in Pennsylvania.
