The Cave of Cruachan (or Cave of Cats) is thought to be Ireland’s gateway to hell.

Many consider Samhain to be a time in which the veil between here and the Otherworld is at its thinnest, and it’s from this cave that a host of creatures are said to emerge each year 🌿🍂

Every Samhain, the fire breather Aillen would emerge from the Otherworld to lull everyone to sleep with his music, before burning down the palace of Tara. Eventually, Fionn mac Cumhail managed to stay awake and slay him.
