What an honor to present Anna Shusterman with the award for Excellence in Cognitive Development Research at Undergraduate-Focused Institutions. She’s a model for how to do empirically rich and theoretically meaningful research with undergraduates.

👀 Important work from my friend Vikram Jaswal Vikram Jaswal: 'These results suggest that many autistic people who do not talk can learn how to spell. If they are given appropriate opportunities, they might be able to learn to communicate by typing.' journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/13…

Just got my copy of this bad boy.

For those of you who don't know him, Greg (now Twitterless) is a foundational figure in research on categorization. (His 1985 paper with Doug Medin, 'The Role of Theories in Conceptual Coherence,' got me into psychology.)

Pick up yours today!

👉New paper on early structural reasoning is out! We tested two methods to increase children's recognition of structural constraints against girls in STEM. Showing that more girls would have participated in STEM without constraints reduces children's biases against girls.
