I, um, started a new job today. It’s called Poet Laureate for the City of Dallas 🥹

It's pub day for this book of my heart. I'm very grateful to everyone who has helped me bring it into the world, and I hope you will read it. ❤️

The lonesome lunch. A relief from a life that’s not your own. In Santa Fe there was this dive with the best red chili. Inevitably, the chef/owner lost his shirt. He took a gig as a glorified line cook. But the new place didn’t adopt his chili.

Somehow this story is everything I thought it would be after hearing his name mentioned and how it was mentioned and hearing him speak on a podcast. I have a feeling he’ll land squarely in the camp of major discoveries of this story-a-thon.
