On cross examination, defense counsel tried to undermine Pecker’s credibility by suggesting that he made prior statements that were inconsistent with his testimony at trial.

But on re-direct, prosecutors powerfully responded to that line of questioning:

The defense has indicated that it intends to attack the credibility of key witnesses–Cohen, Daniels–by portraying them as relentlessly hostile to Trump.

But David Pecker made it clear that he’s not on a Witch Hunt—in fact, he said, he considers Trump a “mentor” and “friend.”
