The IU Bloomington administration evidently changed a longstanding time/place/manner protest policy and imposed a new one yesterday, in anticipation of the Dunn Meadow protest. This makes it difficult to argue the policy was viewpoint-neutral, as the First Amendment requires.

It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor Caroline Fohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, 'What are you doing?' That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.

Organizers should use this to demonstrate the value of message discipline and press liasons. Jackass shows up looking for a cherrypicked quote he can use to discredit the pro-Palestine movement, the students won't give it to him, and all he can do is go whine about it in print.

Honestly, meeting these students has been the highlight of my last few months. I encourage you to take a listen.

I want to be as clear as I possibly can:

Nonviolent students calling for their universities and government to stop giving Israel money and weapons while it kills thousands of innocent people in Gaza

is not the same

as when Nazis attempted to exterminate the Jewish people.

I cannot overstate how dangerous this is. If you think that the US government should treat these students the way they are treating Hamas and Hezbollah, you are basically saying there is no level of violence that is off-limits.

Proud of fellow Jews for joining campus protests, but the protests would in no way be antisemitic in their absence. The protests are righteous because their cause is just.

My view of the protests in and near Columbia University is that today they found yet another mass grave in Khan Younis with hundreds of bodies of Palestinians Israel killed.

They want campuses to be front pages so that mass graves full of Palestinian hospital workers with their wrists tied wouldn’t be.

It feels worth pointing out that 3 of the 4 anti-war protestors who were killed by the National Guard in the 1970 Kent State massacre were Jewish students.
