You'll note how astonishingly rapidly I was able to report this relative to, say, last month's Hillhead result. In addition to their extremely high-production value live reporting of results, Highland Council's election office remain the champions of timely data publication.

Polls are open in Highland's Inverness South by-election. I reckon the SNP have a slight edge here on past performance, but you can never write off a surge from the Lib Dems in this part of the country. ballotbox.scot/preview-invern…
