Today we celebrate our great patriots who sacrificed their lives, paying a great price through brutal death, torture and jail time to secure our independence. In the same spirit, I celebrate all those that fought for the new constitution that gave us the gift of Devolution. 1/2

We cannot keep anyone stealing public funds in the County Government. Any evidence that points to such will result to swift dismissal.

Other resolutions we adopted include; Increasing Own-source Revenue (OSR), implementation of stern measures to cure revenue leakages, and and calibration of an efficient workforce that will present value for the taxpayers' resources by serving with dedication. 2/2

As the clock towards the First 100 days in office continues to tick, today, the 35th day, H.E H.E Hon. Ayub Savula Angatia & I conducted a meeting with officials from key Departments to discuss realignment of resources to support our six-point agenda through the 2022/2023 Supplementary Budget. 1/2

I am glad to note that the National Government has pledged to look into the issues we raised, and commit to put Kakamega County's best foot forward in implementing the resolutions. 3/

I joined fellow Governors at the Kenya School of Government-Kabete for the 18th Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC), which was presided over by the Deputy President, H.E Rigathi Gachagua. 1/

I conducted an impromptu visit to the Kakamega County General Teaching and Referral hospital.

My tour brought to the fore critical areas of concern which include; acute drug shortages, failed medical equipment, a collapsed oxygen plant, and understaffing. 1/

Contrary to rumuors and reportings that the County Government of Kakamega is going to be split into two, my Deputy H.E H.E Hon. Ayub Savula Angatia and I are keen on forming government together and deliver on our manifesto.

The County Government of Kakamega is currently conducting a County Human Resource audit exercise to ascertain the number of County Government of Kakamega staff and verify their academic credentials.

We are in the final stages of putting together the Cabinet names. We are giving priority to regional balance and competence, without forgetting the cosmopolitan nature of Kakamega County.

Also present were Kakamega County Assembly Speaker Hon. James Namatsi, former Mumias East MP, Hon. Benjamin Washiali, among other leaders. 3/3

I will work closely with all MCAs regardless of their political affiliations to realize my vision for County Government of Kakamega. Each one of them will be entitled to receive the Ward Development Fund once it has been anchored in law in line with the laid down legislative procedures. 2/3
