Pilot has just told us our flight Cagliari-Gatwick is cancelled. Going back to terminal after 3 hours on tarmac. Pilot says he hasn’t seen anything like this in 20 years of service

Stuck on tarmac for nearly 2 hours on plane from Sardinia to Gatwick.
Pilot has described issue with U.K. air traffic control as ‘unprecedented’. Plane full of kids (incl my 6yo), no food available. Estimated arrival so far is 6 hrs after scheduled time. IF we get there today
