Sad to say that former BBC NI political editor Stephen Grimason died last night. He was 67. He was also a former Director of Communications at Stormont with the NI Executive. Stephen will be deeply missed, but always loved, by family, friends and colleagues.

Yesterday our Public Affairs Manager Craig Harrison spoke to Linda McAuley MBE BBC Radio Ulster about the impact of the Stormont budget on unpaid carers.

Cutting 1m hours of community care will put massive extra pressure on unpaid carers when many were already at breaking point.

If you agreed the budget you accept the budget.

We could not and we are right to fight for our Health and Social Care.

Anyone who has had recent experience with our NHS will tell you our Health Service needs prioritised.
DUP, SF, and Aliance Party promised you our Health Service would be prioritised. Minister Swann has been let down, and the public have been let down.

Some very committed people will try to solve this, but the budget and funding shortages have devastating real life consequences.

Health Minister Robin Swann is right to reject the budget and push for more funding.

The NHS and wider health sector in Northern Ireland deserve the commitment promised by all of the Executive parties. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

'We did not Support the Budget!'
That's the most honest statement our citizens will hear this year - before the bots attack & the criticisms begin, think of your community, its all based on Health, physical, mental, emotional. Making Ni Work means lying out this fact. LISTEN UP!

A budget without a programme for government is just shifting money around departments. A budget which doesn’t have collective executive approval is a recipe for division and underpins silo mentality. An executive which doesn’t govern as an executive is ripe for further collapse.

A levelling up opportunity for Northern Ireland - which already contributes so much to the defence effort.
