How many people who claim to be “pro-life” are okay with or outright supportive of the Israeli government’s ongoing slaughter of Palestinian children?

My Jewish values will not allow me sit by quietly while a genocide is under way. I am wrecked by what happened in Israel and I am gutted over what is happening to Palestinians.

My loyalty as a Jew is to no nation state - it is to humanity.

This would amount to displacing 1 million+ Palestinians—displacement on a scale we have not seen since the Nakba. The international community must act to prevent a calamity. History will not be kind to those who remain silent.

Condemning Hamas’s horrific violence takes no courage and serves no purpose other than to virtue signal. Speaking out against US support for the repression of and horrific violence against millions of people in Palestine, on the other hand, could potentially help save many lives.

Correct. You cannot both condone this by asserting that “Israel has a right to defend itself” and credibly assert that you care about human rights.

Unsurprising but absolutely shameful stuff from Karine Jean-Pierre on behalf of Joe Biden. Their complete disregard for Palestinian lives is “repugnant” and “disgraceful.” Human rights violations are human rights violations; they are horrible whether committed by Hamas or your friends.

Two million civilians are trapped in Gaza with no way out. A government funded by the US and backed near-unanimously by US politicians is announcing its intention to violate the Geneva conventions. To focus on Hamas atrocities outside this context is morally unserious.

Was told by an elected Democrat in passing that the party “is pay to play and that’s just the way it is.” I don’t get how people can know that, believe themselves to be progressive and anti-corruption, and pledge unconditional loyalty to the party anyway.

The current Israeli government is overtly genocidal and routinely kills Palestinian civilians as a matter of policy; it’s about to kill many more. There’s no excuse for not knowing this; to rally behind them now is a statement of geopolitical preference, not moral principle.
