I didn't realise that newly unfurled lime leaves (tilia cordata) were edible. There are 57 red twigged lime in the avenue at the
arboretum. They are of the variety tilia platyphyllos rubra. I had heard that an infusion from (only) the new flowers can be made, but not the leaves.

Just a little understated thing to round off the day. Queen Maud of Norway certainly knew a thing or two about statement dressing & this feels, to me, like her halcyon days of dress. It dates to c1912, from the higher waistline & fishtail skirt. Beads galore nasjonalmuseet
