Energy Ministers being briefed by the AER regarding the National Energy price forecasts. Fair to say the biggest driver is the international price of coal. Black coal is still setting the price in Australia with coal prices reaching over $600/tn.

Last night’s budget delivers on our commitments on easing cost of living pressures, getting more firmed renewable energy into the grid and taking advantage of the jobs opportunities of becoming a renewable energy economy.

This budget is about turbocharging Australia’s energy transformation, delivering long-overdue investment to make energy cleaner and cheaper, create jobs and cut emissions.

The Government is leading on action on climate change, signing up to the global methane pledge, while the Liberals and Nationals engage in their scare campaigns. It’s the same old Liberal Party.

Our Govt is working with our agriculture sector to help them achieve their emission reduction plans. Today Chris Bowen & I announced $5M in grants to support R&D for low emission feed supplements for grazing animals.
