Today we renamed the 9th street after the work of our Legacy Commission. The new Brooklyn Village Avenue is a key road through Uptown that will serve as a permanent legacy to the thriving community that once stood in this area of City of Charlotte.
Great job to all who contributed to this.

A one-year-old child is killed and a seven-year-old sibling injured in a shooting this weekend. I don’t have the words… as I know the total devastation being felt by a Charlotte family today. This is terrible and so heart breaking. CMPD News continues to investigate this tragedy.
