⚖️ Billionaire businessman Bernie Ecclestone has admitted fraud following a lengthy, complex and worldwide investigation into his tax affairs by HMRC and prosecution by the CPS.

He has paid more than £652m and was sentenced to 17 months' imprisonment, suspended for two years.

⚖️ A man who killed a stranger with a single punch before entering a pub and bragging about it has been jailed.

Darren John Fell, 41, was convicted of manslaughter and was today sentenced to nine years in prison after striking Wayne Sheppard.

⚖️Jaswant Singh Chail, 21, who threatened to kill HM Queen Elizabeth II, was sentenced today to nine years' custody at Broadmoor Hospital with a further five years on extended licence. He was made subject to a restriction under S45A Mental Health Act 1983.

The CPS has published its updated prosecution guidance on homicide following a 12-week public consultation.

⚖️ Jay Lang, 24, has been jailed for 21 years today for blackmailing children into sending him nude images of themselves over social media.

Anyone can ask for certain Crown Court sentences to be reviewed by the Attorney General’s office within 28 days of sentencing if it’s thought to be too low.

The Law Officers can ask the Court of Appeal to review the sentence if it’s considered too low.

⚖️ The CPS has authorised charges against five people suspected of spying for Russia.

Orlin Roussev, 45, Bizer Dzhambazov, 41, Katrin Ivanova, 31, Ivan Stoyanov, 31, and Vanya Gaberova, 29, will appear in court on 26th September.
