Today, alongside Council Member Council Member Shekar Krishnan & other members and advocates, we introduced the final bills of the Back Home Package. This legislation is a crucial step to address the challenges faced by displaced tenants & landlords after fires, floods, or emergencies.

On good cause eviction, one source tells me concessions include: - exemption for rents 200% of fair market rent - 30 yr exemption for new construction - owner-occupied buildings of 8 units or less, and those landlords with a 10 unit portfolio exempt - opt-in for municipalities

We are in a housing crisis. Working-class tenants have been fighting to survive and we need more than a "deal" that lines the pockets of already wealthy landlords. This would leave THOUSANDS without protection. This is NOT #GoodCause. It's a real estate giveaway.

We need real leadership and resources from the Adams' Administration, especially in this critical moment. We're grateful to CM Hudson and her team for organizing to ensure the safety and consideration of asylum seekers arriving in NYC!

🚨Happening Now: We are at City Hall Park to fight back against the harmful 30 days for adults over 24 years-of-age and 60 days for adults 18-24 years shelter restrictions. It's time to #EndShelter Evictions & defend NYC’s Right to Shelter! ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #WelcomingNYS

Via @ruprenters and @onepennsylvania, a look at Philly tenant and wheelchair user Tyrone's experience with Odin Properties, which tenants are currently petitioning against, and was in the news last year after the eviction-related shooting of Angel Davis. mobilize.us/s/zrlglm

CUFFH opposes the RGB proposal for rent increases. NYC's rent-stabilized tenants face up to a 6.5% hike! 📢 RENT ROLL BACK - NO MORE RENT HIKES // ¡NO MÁS SUBIDAS DE ALQUILER! 📢 This increase equals eviction for our community! #NoMoreRentHikes #RentRollBack

Today, the #SupremeCourt's decision allows persecution of those experiencing homelessness, denying them basic human rights. Despite this, we continue fighting for everyone's right to safe, secure, and affordable housing. #FightForHousing #HumanRights
