Had to wait for the 4th one from our state to be selected in NFL Draft, but it's a good one as WR Xavier Worthy (Central, Fresno) will get to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes in KC at No. 28 in 1st rd. Took photo of him as junior with Central QB Trent Tomkins.

Carmichael Jesuit grad Laiatu Latu picked at No. 15 in 1st rd by Indianapolis (head coach Shane Steichen is from Oak Ridge of El Dorado Hills). Latu 6th Marauder to NFL. QB Ken O'Brien (longtime Jets) was No. 24 in 1st rd of that famous 1983 NFL Draft of QBs.

TE Brock Bowers of Napa High goes at No. 13 to Vegas Raiders. Seems like he dropped a few spots.
Napa High goes back to 1897 and Brock is one of that school's best-ever athletes. Baseball's Bill Buckner was 25th pick in 1st rd of MLB Draft in 1968.

The Inland Empire gets its second straight No. 2 overall pick in NFL Draft with Jayden Daniels (Cajon) going to Redskins. Many of us began following him as a 9th grader. Ended career as CIFSS career leader with 14,007 pass yds. State record 17,406 yds career total offense.

Last yr, the No. 1 & No. 2 picks in first round were from our state. That was it after that, however.
This year, it's looking like four will go in the first round, beginning with QB Jaylen Daniels (Cajon, San Bernardino). Enjoy the festivities.
