Liberal Democrats have long been urging the Government to negotiate a reciprocal youth mobility scheme with Europe.

Of course the details would need to be negotiated, but no sensible UK government would reject this idea out of hand.

A youth mobility scheme would be a win-win-win:

💷 boosting our economy, especially hospitality & tourism

🚄 offering great new opportunities for young people to live & work abroad

🤝 starting to fix our broken relationship with Europe

Just imagine if Labour in London had invested all this money not in a new motorway but instead in a sustainable transport strategy and environmental projects. London could have been a much cleaner, greener and healthier city.

The opposition by both the Conservatives and Labour to an EU mobility scheme for young people is unforgivable. Why hold back their opportunities? I honestly can't understand it.

It's clear as day that the Liberal Democrats are the only party that will rebuild our ties with the EU.

There is no good reason for Labour to reject the EUs offer to restore freedom of movement for young people!

If Labour won't stand up for internationalism & young people the Lib Dems will. 🔶️🇪🇺

Agree. Studying and working in France was life changing for me, giving me language skills that opened up new career opportunities and friendships. I paid the same fees as a French student, so it was cheaper to learn abroad. Young people now should be able to do the same.

When Labour are put on the stand, they don’t deliver. When Hina and Caroline presented a motion for a London-Erasmus programme, Sadiq’s team didn’t vote for it.

Sadiq Khan's motorway is hidden from his manifesto even though at £2,000,000,000 it's been the most expensive thing he's bought.

This is a good idea. Young people deserve the same opportunities so many of us benefitted from at the beginning of our adult lives, and UK industries like the arts and hospitality would benefit too.
