This is true. The number of people deploying battle and fighter and warrior metaphors for cancer. They mean so well, but you don’t half feel appalled at the image of ‘sending’ your young kid in, alone. Makes it a bit lonelier for all, and we need some better language.

Oh come now, ‘Unlike’. I’m not resigning over a Daily Mail recipe scare. There’s nothing Marxist about dried fruit, so easy with that flamethrower.

This is so lovely! A new green corridor for Tyneside and also the reopening of the utterly magnificent Dunston Staiths. It melts my daughter-of-Gateshead heart. ⁦Save the Staiths⁩ bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Charles Moore agrees with the Legatum Institute’s strange allegation that a charity CEO & Chair sharing advisory/admin staff is problematic. Sharing staff may not be common in offshore-funded thinktanks but in my (25 years+) experience, it’s very normal for UK charities.

I remember a time when charities simply didn’t need counter-disinformation expertise in their communications teams. It was a gentler time.

I spoke to alan rusbridger & Lionel Barber about why a counter-disinformation approach is now needed by people handling communications for our institutions. And growing public trust in the National Trust. They generously gave the recent scone scare a trigger warning. Prospect

Someone just whatsapped me this and now I’m worried I seem to have been working for the US Military in the 1970’s.

Every time we visit Robin Hood’s Bay, which is at least once a year, I tell my family I’m renting this place to have my next breakdown in. It’s perfectly placed near a sweet shop, a second hand book shop, the beach and a pub. So, yes.
