This is my dear friend, Nakita.

Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26.

She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)

I’m excited to announce that I was elected National President of the Latino Medical Student Association, LMSA National & will be the first Brazilian 🇧🇷 to lead the national organization! I have big shoes to fill but I hope that I can make everyone proud this year!!

My dad installs carpet and my mom cleans houses for a living. As kids, they’d take us to work and say “Échale ganas o si no vas a terminar como nosotros.” Gracias a Dios, miren lo que logramos!🥹🇲🇽
