Yesterday, Curt and I celebrated 30 years of love and friendship. I’m so thankful, Curt has been a great husband, partner and friend. I’m grateful for our journey.

It is with great sadness that I mourn the loss Conen Morgan, a true young talent and political genius. His loss is profound.

I’m praying for his wife Reyna, family and community of friends and colleagues who loved and admired him so much.

Today we lost a trailblazer, icon and the Queen of Rock n Roll, Tina Turner.

In the words of the legend, “You’re simply the best! Better than all the rest!”

Its always a blessing to speak at the General Baptist State Convention. As I said, we have been called upon and we must answer that call! When we see injustice we have an obligation not to just pray about it but to do something about it.

Belafonte was a singer, dancer, actor, activist and pioneer for Black communities. From paving the way for Black entertainers to have equal pay to financially supporting and working with Dr. King and SCLC in the fight for justice, Belafonte was a legend.

Rest in peace Sir!

What we see happening to the Tennessee Three as they stand strong for change is frightening, disgusting and a threat to Democracy.

Persecution will never win over justice!

Fifty five years ago today, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. We can’t sleep on the dream. We must keep fighting to make it a reality for our children.

As a mom, my heart breaks for the families of those who lost their lives at The Covenant School.

ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Congress must muster the courage to act and save our children. Guns shouldn’t be in the hands of those who cannot use them responsibly.
