Remember now when you change the size of your garbage containers there will be a $30 fee added to your water bill for delivery fees. As of July 1, there is now a fee.

Remember the 4th of July was a holiday that delays your garbage a day. So if you are normally picked up on Tuesday it would be today for pick up. If you are Friday it will be on Saturday. Yep!

Because of the poor air quality, the brush pick up will be delayed until levels are back to normal. Leave your brush it will get picked up when levels are back to normal.

Spoke too soon MV! The air quality is 200 and so the MV pool will be closing today. Can't keep your head under the water all the time! So, today the pool will be closed due to the poor air quality.

The air quality may not be so great, but the water in the Mount Vernon pool is! Put your head under the water and have fun and play safe! Get your swim fins out MV!

Palisades Road is coming along! Exciting! It will all be worth it MV! Have patience while the streets are improved around the City.

Garbage is not delayed this week because of Juneteenth. Its your regular garbage day for pick up. Please do not change your garbage day. It is a normal week.

The City of Mt Vernon will be working on Palisades Road SW this week and possibly next week. Take that in mind when driving around town. You may need extra time or want to chose a different route. We appreciate your patience while this much needed repair is being done.

Highway 1 is closed today for road work near Martelle. I suggest using an alternative route or expect a delay in your travels. Make sure to take a little extra time.

If you put items out that do not qualify or place in containers, basically follow the rules of the pick up, your items will not be picked up and you will have to arrange a pick up with Republic Garbage and they will charge you. Make sure your items meet the guidelines.
