Hey, Memphis! Watch the eclipse from the riverfront, with its unobstructed view to the west. Bring your lunch or grab a hot dog at the new café at Tom Lee Park and join us. Free eclipse glasses to the first 100 visitors to our Welcome Center starting at noon.

The eclipse in Memphis will take place between 12:37pm and 3:15pm today, with peak solar coverage at 1:57pm, when the temp will drop a few degrees and it will become slightly darker outside. Remember: if we see any sun, do NOT look at it directly!

We are less than a week away from this years solar eclipse. We still have FREE safety glasses available at most branches. However, Cordova, Raleigh, East Shelby, and Frayser branches are out of glasses.

We love being in our parks and green spaces, but safety always comes first on stormy days. Remember this advice from the National Weather Service: “When thunder roars, go indoors!” It could save your life! 🌩️
