I could be wrong but why is trading for draft picks better than trading for proven players? If you trade a good player to a team, the odds of them being bad isn’t likely, so how are the picks more valuable than getting proven players?

Tyler Herro was really disappointing in the playoffs to say the least. Buddy shot 23% from 3, 40% from the field, and 12 and a half a game. 9 fewer points a game on some terrible shooting. Buddy only good for that 82 game part of the year.
