Great update on HB24-1072!! It has been signed into law.

For the DA's Office, especially in a college community, sex assault cases are a top priority. Our Sex Crimes Unit helped craft and support this bill to expand rape shield protections for survivors of sex crimes.

HB24-1072 has officially been signed into law! No longer will sexual assault survivors be shamed or blamed for what they were wearing in court.

HB24-1225 and HCR24-1002 passed unanimously in the Senate today. The resolution will now go to CO voters this Nov. who will decide whether to restore 1st degree murder as a non-bailable offense. Thank you Rhonda Fields for your commitment to keeping our communities safe.
