Sources tell Postmedia the deal is done and Travis Green is the #Sens new head coach. Expectation is announcement will be made today. Green will be introduced tomorrow with press conference by POHO/GM Steve Staios. Owner Michael Andlauer will also be in town.

Both Celebrini and Fantilli were initially accepted their invite with the understanding they may not have a roster spot if more experienced players were made available. Both were also given the option to stay in Prague or return home.

Team Canada has added reinforcements for the Men’s World Hockey Championship. Pierre-Luc Dubois, Nick Paul and Brandon Hagel are joining Canada. Macklin Celebrini and Adam Fantilli have made the decision to return home. Celebrini is obviously tied to the NHL Draft Lottery.

Final details are still being worked on. Indications are Travis Green will be the next head coach of the Ottawa Senators.

Today is about appreciating Rick Bowness for the Jets. Moving forward, the organization has a high level of respect for Scott Arniel and he will be strongly considered, but all options will be discussed as part of the process.

Coaching news out of Winnipeg this morning. It’s expected Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Rick Bowness will announce his retirement today. Bowness has coached over 2600 games in the NHL and is a Jack Adams Award finalist for the first time. Great man. Great career.
