So viel Erinnerungskultur und dann das. Kulturfremd als das neue volksfremd umformuliert, und schon wird pauschale Abwertung ganzer Menschengruppen wieder salonfähig. Das macht mir Angst.

For context: the global top 10% is anyone with an income of over about 19,500 USD per year in the US (or, adjusted for purchasing power, over about 23'000 CHF in Switzerland or 14,500 € in Germany).

The global rich, that likely includes you, dear reader:

New research from John Tebes and Jeffrey Fagan makes the most compelling and stark case to date that 'Stop and Frisk' was a disasterous policy without merit. Whether you previously 'knew' that or not, it's still time to update your beliefs.

When I light your candle with mine, I've lost nothing—I still have my light. This is clear to most people. I wish it was just as clear that when we empathize with the pain of others, whoever they may be, we also lose nothing. Empathy doesn't have to be a zero-sum game.

Good news: worst case scenarios of 5°C or more have most likely been avoided

Bad news: we're still totally off track to reach 1.5°C or even 2°C. Each additional 0.1°C makes a big difference for economic & environmental impacts.

What we do next - and how - fast is therefore key.
