Aside from the allegations of actual data fraud in this case, isn’t it a bit disturbing how big the file drawer is here? Gino was collecting “dozens, and dozens, and dozens” of datasets each year (!), “80%” of which “never worked out”?

This is actually the best example I’ve seen yet of what my mental imagery is like (just barely #3). In the past, I’ve described it as “looking inside a Magic 8 ball”. The fact that some of you are #1 is absolutely bonkers.

New 📄: Two people w/ identical priors can draw opposite conclusions from the same data simply because they want to. Though seemingly at odds w/ Bayesian theories of the mind, such wishful thinking may actually emerge from fully Bayesian computations. nature.com/articles/s4156…
