I did my Cardiac Anaesthesia attachment at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle in 1985. Cardiac surgery waiting lists were over 12 months unless you came in acutely and couldn't be stabilised on medical treatment.

This is a pattern of behaviour on health scandals seen again and again. Is DHSC focused on patients or keeping things quiet, no trouble, and above all 'don't embarrass the minister?'

The ARRS games being played by the people who control the purse strings are getting beyond ridiculous now. The only way this ends is with General Practice losing out. Core GP funding needs investment now.
