The U.S. Department of Energy Spent Nuclear Fuel Working Group marked their 10-year anniversary and recently met at @SRSNEWS

The EM program has added 3 electric vehicles and 6 charging stations to its Idaho National Lab Site and Idaho Falls facilities, part of the cleanup program’s efforts to adopt clean energy solutions that help lower greenhouse gases and reduce its carbon footprint!

In April, EM's Paducah Site dispositioned an additional ~157,360 pounds of R-114. Commonly known as Freon, R-114 played an important role in supporting uranium enrichment operations at the site before operations ceased in 2014.
➡️ 1M pounds is planned to be dispositioned in 2024.

Crews at the Hanford Site received 5 truckloads of specialized equipment from EM's Carlsbad Field Office that will double Hanford’s capability to certify containers of transuranic waste to meet requirements for shipment to the DOE WIPP for disposal.

Jeff Avery traveled to Portsmouth, Ohio this week to attend the EM Site Specific Advisory Board Chairs semi-annual meeting. He provided an update on EM’s cleanup mission and priorities to members from the eight site-specific boards.

Crews completed 162 corrective and preventive maintenance projects ahead of schedule at EM's Waste Isolation Pilot Plant during the facility’s recent annual maintenance period, Feb. 5 through March 31.

🎉EM's Portsmouth Site has expanded its hands-on learning program STEAM Ahead to now include all 4 public school districts in Pike County. The program, was created to support the EM commitment to promoting STEAM initiatives & developing an inclusive STEAM workforce of the future.

EM has #completed cleanup associated with the demolition of the Low Intensity Test Reactor at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Great job DOE Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management team!
