A lot of people don't realize how effectively Dems have appropriated the language of "ceasefire." It's a sly position that allows Dems to sound like they're on the side of the left AND also sound apolitical to centrists. Meanwhile they ignore the issue of US support for Israel.

Just ran into Ro Khanna, who told me that Vice President Kamala Harris Harris should pivot on the war in Gaza like Hubert Humphrey in 1968. Seems like sound advice IMO.

I will say it again: it boggles my mind that when many of us see identical or worse scenes in Gaza, we say, "This war must end, we need a ceasefire yesterday"; but when we see this happening in Ukraine, we say, "This war must go on, no ceasefire."

Biden, Harris, Walz & most Dems all rightly objected to Trump tearing up the Iran nuclear deal and pursuing max pressure sanctions on Iran. Those sanctions seriously backfired, escalating the nuclear crisis, deepening regional tensions and punishing ordinary civilians in Iran.
