European Champions 2024

This week has been such a joy and testament to the graft our crew has put in throughout the savage winter of training and selection that we have endured together.

It’s a privilege to be selected for the European Championships 2024 🇬🇧

I promise that I take nothing for granted and that every time I represent GB, I remember a time when I thought it might never happen for me again.

Surgery, a comeback and a whole lot more hair. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Pre-hab, perseverance and prayer got me through and it felt flipping great to be back on the red carpet with the four’s ticket to Paris stamped and ready to go.

💚 On Thursday we were lucky enough in partnership with Aldi Stores UK to welcome gold Olympic medalist Erin Kennedy MBE to our school. Thank you Erin you were such an inspiration! We cannot wait to support you in the next Paralympics! 💚

Second reconstruction surgery done ✅

It’s been a rough 24 hours but I am home and recovering. Just thank you to my top nurse/taxi driver/sick bowl remover/chef/cheerleader Sam Kennedy - I can’t imagine navigating this madness without you by my side.

P.S. Check your chest!

I am very sad to write that the kind, brilliant Nicky has passed away. She was an example to me and so many others, showing how you can live joyfully with cancer. Sam and I send our love to her husband Alex and her family and friends.

Selected for the World Championships. You couldn’t write it.

I started the season with nine chemotherapy sessions and a double mastectomy ahead of me. I am finishing it by trying to qualify the boat for Paris 2024 at the Worlds next month.

Grateful. Determined.
