Earlier this year, we completed the second-ever bonobo release back to the wild! But one bonobo, Kole, didn’t make it with the rest of the group. He was injured on Totaka Island and wasn’t fit to make the journey across the river. Until now.

Just last week, after months of TLC, Kole made it to Ekolo ya Bonobo Community Reserve! He received a very warm welcome when he arrived. He is now living free in the wild with the rest of his family and friends.
