When schools go phone free, this is what always seems to happen: Kids spend far more time talking to each other, playing, and laughing. School is more fun, and, as a side benefit, they learn more.

Let's make all schools phone free next fall.

Here’s the thing about New York: on the block next to my office you can, within steps of one another, buy a $1.25 cup of coffee and a $6 cup of coffee. I partake of both regularly.

Today's college students are lonely, sad, and socially anxious.

It's easy to see how a generation that was never allowed to walk around the neighborhood without anxious adults watching and assisting them might just be unprepared for the real world.

Golden rice is enriched with vitamin A.

Officials estimate that up to 500,000 vitamin A–deficient children become blind every year, and half of them die within 12 months of losing their sight.

SAFETY FIRST!

Worried about your child being unreachable for the 30 mins between school & home? Give them a smartphone! If they're busy texting (or worse) & get hit by a car, they can reach you!

knows that letting go is an act of bravery for parents. Kids need more independence, free time, and old-fashioned play, but it takes a nudge to break the cycle.

Great testimony for our Reasonable Childhood Independence bill by a dad who is also a pre-k teacher:

'Children are not just the citizens of tomorrow. They're the citizens of TODAY.'

They deserve some independence.

What formerly popular thing has almost evaporated from today's culture over the past generation or so? For instance:

$1 cups of coffee
Step aerobics
Polaroid cameras

And...?

Iron-on AirTags now marketed as 'must-haves' so you know where your child is any given second.

If we 'must have' them how did we survive till now?

We are re-engineering the role of parent into FedEx tracker and kid into FedEx package.

Fun.
