β€œFair value” instead of hope value. Look forward to seeing how that plays out in the tribunals. It certainly won’t speed up planning.
Also I am very worried about how councils will use these CPO powers. Round here they wanted to use it for market homes & no social housing

This is an absolute mess. Councils can’t afford to house people in London so force them out.

We need Gov’t to fund social housing.

Yes instead, election discussions are around things like β€˜freedom to buy’ which do NOTHING for people in greatest need

Worrying study from Canada on impact of new supply on house prices:
'Adding new supply in conformance with what many call the 'law of supply and demand', did not lower home prices for renters and buyers in Vancouver. What it did do is make our urban land tremendously expensive.'

Sadly not in Gtr Mcr - Labour are planning to unnecessarily build on 2,400 hectares of peat mosses, Grades 1,2&3 agri land, woodland & wetland habitats, land that is essential to climate mitigation, food security & nature's recovery! It is a total betrayal of future generations!

Friends of Carrington Moss πŸ’šπŸŒ³πŸΎπŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸ΄πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’š It's extraordinary: just measures to increase demand, which will be inflationary.
It's the availability of homes for genuinely affordable rent that's needed, not speculative development on green spaces for the private market.
