Visited Bury to visit the Fusilier Museum and be part of the Gallipoli weekend commemoration. A remarkable 6 Victory Crosses were awarded to the Lancashire Fusiliers for their bravery in Gallipoli and a further 12 for other actions.

Gallipoli Day marks the day when a number of landings took place during the First World War.

Soldiers from the Lancashire Fusiliers took part in the landings on the Gallipoli Peninsula, in what is now modern-day Turkey, to try to force the Ottoman Empire out of the war.

At dawn on the 25 Apr 1915, The Lancashire Fusiliers landed on W Beach, on the Gallipoli Peninsula, where the Turks opened fire. Despite heavy losses for the Fusiliers, six VC’s were awarded for this action.

First Fusiliers fire Javelin Anti-Tank Missile and NLAW in Estonia! 💥🇪🇪

Following anti-tank courses in Estonia soldiers had the opportunity to conduct a live fire. This included firing the Javelin up to 1500m in top attack mode!
