I agree this needs more nuance. Not all dimorphic fungi are endemic mycoses.

why don’t we bill for a microbiology read? Cardiology reads every ekg ordered in the hospital, pulm all the pfts and abgs.

We also don’t cost share. Oncology often receives 10% of drug costs back. ID has not done this for meds some of which have been equally expensive

Big knowledge deficit amongst US based ID physicians on a legit way to get reimbursed for work we are doing.
