The GMC seem to be saying it's OK to find a workaround for rules that were put in place for patient safety - eg limiting the number of anaesthetic associates who can be supervised at the same time by one qualified anaesthetist. Very disturbing.

If the GMC is no longer concerned with ensuring that people working as doctors, performing surgery / anaesthesia are appropriately qualified and supervised…

…then the UK currently lacks such an organisation. And the last time that was the case was 1848.
