For the Conservative and Labour parties, the current system suits them.

It lets the Conservatives in most of the time, despite the majority of people voting against them.

All across the country, residents are being asked to pay more council tax to fund social care whilst other services are cut.

After Buses Of Somerset threatened cuts to 54, 58, 25 & 28 today without warning, I’ve spoken with our Liberal Democrats team Somerset Council we’re now working together to save as many as we can from BoS cuts, the Conservatives should never have privatised our buses in the first place!

A single person with an income below £95 a week, or a couple with two children on a weekly income below £260, will be entitled to the full 100% council tax reduction from 1 April 2023 when the new Somerset Council comes into being.
