I have had a number of positive engagements in Westminster this week with UK Parliamentarians. Once again, it was great to hold several meetings jointly with @govgg External Affairs Minister Jonathan Le Tocq 🇬🇬. It’s always beneficial to represent Channel Island interests together.

Yesterday Deputy Ian Gorst met with the Omani Ambassador سفارة سلطنة عُمان - لندن | OMAN EMBASSY - LONDON in London. Discussion’s included trade and investment, energy and further strengthening of the Jersey-Oman relationship. 🇯🇪 🇴🇲

Earlier this week Deputy Ian Gorst met with the Ghanaian High Commissioner Papa Owusu-Ankomah in London. They discussed bilateral cooperation, cultural and economic ties as well as the Ghanaian diaspora in Jersey. 🇯🇪🇬🇭

I was delighted to attend an event last night to mark the signing of a UK trade pact with the State of Texas - the second largest US State by size of economy. Great to catch up with Business & Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch, Trade Minister Greg Hands & the Governor Gov. Greg Abbott

Today Deputy Ian Gorst met with the French Ambassador Hélène Duchêne in London. They discussed how Jersey and France can forge stronger links both regionally & nationally, enhance cooperation on energy security, deliver improved air & sea links, and develop our cultural ties. 🇯🇪🇫🇷

Deputy Ian Gorst met with Ian Borg Foreign Minister of Malta, yesterday. Discussions including the challenges and opportunities for island economies, working together within international bodies, and maintaining competitive and well-regulated financial services industries. 🇯🇪🇲🇹

On day two of the Ambassador's Markus Leitner official visit to Jersey, the delegation explored one of Jersey's most ancient and historic sites, La Hougue Bie. Many thanks to Jersey Heritage for the informative tour and presentation.

and his delegation toured St Martin's Church with Pete Stone where the Ambassador learned about David Bandinel, the first Anglican Dean of Jersey originally from Geneva, Switzerland. 🇯🇪🇨🇭

Jersey students from Beaulieu Beaulieu School have been at The Royal Society #partnershipgrants Student Conference in London this week. There they also met Government of Jersey London Office 🇯🇪's Dr Jim Robinson & discussed their science project 'Will plants found in mountains cope with climate change?'
