I used a car for the 1st time in 2 mos to deliver some #DenverDeservesSidewalks signs. My cargo eBike meant that the distance & hauling ability weren’t a problem. But the lack of safe, non-car routes to Northfield & Montbello were huge obstacles. Car dependency is manufactured.

The driver of the grey vehicle honked at the driver of the black vehicle for stopping to let the pedestrian across. Gotta love the guys reaction to my shouting. ✊

Is it just me, or should someone with a drivers license/CDL know what an illuminated red arrow means? It’s scary to think just how terrible this could have gone.

Last month Denver submitted $20 million in transportation funding requests to Denver Regional COG. Once again our city is prioritizing highway expansion over transit investment. We have until 10/26 to give public comment opposing these plans.

ANOTHER parent at my school has bought a Tern Bicycles HSD. She has put 20 miles on it in the first 2 days and rode away this morning saying, “It’s SO much nicer than driving!” #ebikesarecarreplacements

I politely asked a parent to turn off their engine while they were idling with heavy exhaust fumes a few feet from playing kindergartners. He rolled his eyes at me and put his car in gear to move a few spaces down so that he could idle another 60 seconds before getting his kid.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this with the volume up. 🥰

Our roads in Denver are simply too wide. Wider streets empirically cause drivers to drive faster, which is more dangerous.

Expanding sidewalks and building proper protected bike lanes serve a double dividend of traffic calming and providing safe alternatives to driving.
