🚨I-70 ALERT - BOONE/COOPER COUNTY🚨

I-70 remains closed in both directions between Rocheport (MM 115) and Boonville (MM 101) due to smoke from nearby brush fires causing severe visibility issues.

There is a major brush fire in Cooper County that has forced the closure of I70 from MM 106 to 117 due to 0 visibility. This includes the Missouri River Bridge in Rocheport. Find alternate routes. @MODOT and MSHP General HQ are on scene and assisting with the reroute of traffic.

This fire is not contained and hundreds of acres are considered at risk. Missouri State Emergency Management Agency has activated the emergency operations center. The follow fire agencies are among those responding:

Boone County
Clifton
Otterville
