It is not lost on me that the only Pulitzer Prize winning poets speaking on Palestine, Columbia, and the violent suppression of students are Jericho Brown, a queer Black man teaching at Emory, and Natalie Diaz, a queer Indigenous woman teaching at ASU. Where are the rest of you?

Grateful to The Offing for publishing these poems I withdrew from a forthcoming ghazal anthology that originally didn't want to publish too many poems about Palestine and the genocide.

Wrote for The Nation about what we have been watching over the past 24 hours. The people in power are terrified of the strength of this movement, and they are doing everything they can to punish students for having the audacity to challenge them. thenation.com/article/activi…

Police were quite literally throwing tables and pushing students down the stairs until one passed out. Inviting the NYPD onto campus at Columbia University University has both destroyed more property and endangered more people than the original occupation of the building.

“It is a longstanding and unfortunate truth that disabled people are often seen as undesirable and even as unable to experience desire, love or care. This book needed to exist.”

Beautiful review of Alice Wong 王美華’s Disability Intimacy. Can’t wait to read it!

A LIVING REMEDY is out in paperback today! It is the book of my heart, and I feel very lucky to have gotten to write and publish it. If you want to order a copy, it would mean so much to me. harpercollins.com/products/a-liv…

Thank you, Keah Buy The Secret Summer Promise Brown, for calling my essay 'The Last Walk' in Disability Intimacy a standout. This anthology, edited by Alice Wong 王美華, and with works by 40 contributors, comes out tomorrow!

I’ve been despairing that none of my reviews have gone into depth about a memoir that took me 20+ years to write, until now!!! SO GRATEFUL for this review of The Translator’s Daughter in Washington Independent Review of Books in which the author really grappled w/ the complications of my life & identity 😭

“To speak at USC in this moment would betray not only our own values, but USC’s too . . . We cannot overlook the link between recent developments and the ongoing genocide in Palestine.”

I slept in late because I had a dream about my dad and my brother. We were about to sit down at a restaurant but my chair was too close to the stairs and I was afraid of falling, then I woke up. I tried to go back to sleep to spend more time with my dad and brother, but alas 😢
