It is not lost on me that the only Pulitzer Prize winning poets speaking on Palestine, Columbia, and the violent suppression of students are Jericho Brown, a queer Black man teaching at Emory, and Natalie Diaz, a queer Indigenous woman teaching at ASU. Where are the rest of you?

Grateful to The Offing for publishing these poems I withdrew from a forthcoming ghazal anthology that originally didn't want to publish too many poems about Palestine and the genocide.

Police were quite literally throwing tables and pushing students down the stairs until one passed out. Inviting the NYPD onto campus at Columbia University University has both destroyed more property and endangered more people than the original occupation of the building.
