1/ When Walmart enters any business you can expect that they will leverage their massive scale to get better economics, create value for customers- and drive out local mom and pop competitors

Thats what many assumed would happen w primary care clinics

but it didn't

why not?

Walmart says it could not operate a profitable business due to a challenging reimbursement environment and rising costs.

Yup, healthcare indeed is hard.

“I just signed Aetna. They have 40M members. Do you realize how much revenue that means for us? Huge. I know it’s not right away, but they said they’re going to push it to all their members super hard. That means we’ll have $10-15M this year easy. Right?”

You can either wait for change or initiate change 😌

Plenty of missing-the-point reactions on this one, but I'll just add: if the patient or their caregiver are late for the appointment, or don't show, they get charged or penalized by the physician or provider. Patients' time is also important. Even improving communication helps.
