In April of 1680 the ship Richmond arrived in Charleston, America with 45 French Protestants (Huguenots) on board. In 1687, a church was built in Charleston. About 450 Huguenots had settled in the environs of South Carolina by 1700.

The International Museum of the Reformation opened on 15 April 2005. It is housed in an area of La Maison Mallet, an eighteenth century dwelling, where the Genevans adopted the Reformation having voted for the Reform in 1536.museeprotestant.org/en/notice/le-m…
